Knitting for Cancer Inc. uses 100% of every donation to continue providing yarn and supplies to our volunteers free of charge. We are always in need of more supplies. Every package of a hat, blanket, and cancer critter costs us $50.00. Will you help us offer comfort to those fighting for their lives?
How would you like to volunteer?
Making sure cancer warriors get the support they deserve and the all important care packages we deliver takes a substantial amount of time and effort. From creating and shipping our comfort packages to assisting in fund raising, and helping at our events, we are always looking for volunteers.

Office volunteers
- inventory
- yarn
- comfort items
- for sale items
- tagging
- Putting donations in the proper place
- Put together comfort packages
- box them properly for shipping
Vendor volunteers
- set up and tear down (IX Center example)
- working Booth hours
Fundraising volunteers
- at event
- set up
- Registration
- sell raffle tickets
- sell 50/50 or sideboard tickets
- photography/videography
- DJ (not for golf outing at Bunker)
Pre event
- Soliciting for raffle baskets
- Soliciting for sponsors
- Soliciting for attendees
Work from home volunteers
- call businesses to become monthly sponsors (call script)
- call cancer centers
- find out how many of what they need (call script)
- request presentation appointment from cancer centers, hospitals and doctors ect.
- create meet and greet locations
- create new classes in more places
Other types of volunteers
- knitting and crocheting mentors/teachers
Grant writing
- (we have several learning materials and a email of leads)
Donation boxes
- call businesses to request that we can put a donation box in their business
- collect donations (once a month or more depending on the amount collected adjust as needed)
Driver
- pickup and drop off yarn and comfort items
